Recommendation: The only reason I give it a positive recommendation is Frobisher’s role in the larger storyline. There’s a whole other adventure here that seems to be ignored just to get Frobisher where he needs to be for the miniseries. And why is he working with the Autons again? It’s not like they’re his lackeys. What they got wrong: The Master finally shows up in the comic and what does he do? Nothing! Was this a trap and how did the Master know they were coming? Did our heroes stumble upon another of the Master’s schemes and if so what was it? He doesn’t do anything in this story which is a crime in itself. On the other hand he appears to play an important role in the miniseries. On the one hand he was a UK comic creation and not from the show so fans who didn’t read the comics or IDW’s recent reprints of the sixth Doctor’s comics won’t know who he is. What they got right: I honestly haven’t paid attention in previous comics, but I do like that they brought in Ridgway, one of the better artists from the UK comics in the magazine, to do the art. As for the guy kidnapping the Doctor’s companions, his ninth incarnation has a plan on that front. The Doctor, Peri, and Frobisher end up in the middle of one of the Master’s schemes, and he’s working with the Autons again.
